Black Friday is fast-approaching and if you have been postponing buying that virtual reality headset or package, this will be the right time for you to score some attractive price deals. This year’s Black Friday will land on 29th November but some of the big retailers such as Amazon have stretched the Black Friday period so on these retailers’ platforms, the shopping bonanza already began on 22nd and will run until 29th.

VR Black Friday Deals

More VR deals will be coming out in the next few days but here are a few that we have gleaned so far:-

Oculus

The release of Facebook’s Oculus Quest headset was quite the game-changer this year, providing end users with a standalone virtual reality headset with very superb specs for the first time. The follow-up with the Oculus Link cable connection practically makes the other PC-based virtual reality headsets such as the Oculus Rift S redundant as users now have a versatile standalone virtual reality headset that they can also interface with a PC to access the Rift experiences. As a result, many buyers’ eyes are currently fixated on the Quest headset and they will be shopping for some offers during Back Friday.

Oculus is planning to bundle the Quest headset with three episodes of the Star Wars virtual reality series Vader Immortal. The episodes are normally priced at $30. The bundles will be available from November 21st to January 31st , so you have more than two months to grab this great deal. You will also have to activate your Oculus Quest within 30 days after the purchase for you to get the Vader Immortal series for free. March 2nd will be the last day within which you can redeem the Quest bundle offer.

The Oculus Rift S headset has also been discounted and will be selling for $350. This usually goes for $399 so you will save $49 on this bundle. You can grab this offer between November 28th and December 2nd on various retail outlets including Amazon, Best Buy, Lenovo and Oculus.

The last Oculus Black Friday offer is that of Oculus Go where you can also grab some great discounts. If you are looking for a much cheaper standalone virtual reality headset for basic VR experiences, then you can grab the Go offers. The 32GB model is now available for $149, down from the previous price of $199. The 64GB model is now available for $199 down from $249.

HTC Vive

There are still no offers yet on the HTC Vive headsets but keep your eyes open. There is a likelihood that something might come up in the course of the week, ahead of Black Friday. One HTC offer that is already available is that on VivePort Infinity subscription service that now offers users unlimited access to virtual reality apps for just $4.99 per month down from $12.99 per month. It also includes a 14-day free trial as well as a 10% discount off the content once every month, at checkout.  Additionally, the subscription service will include discounts and exclusive offers on weekend deals.

PSVR

For Black Friday, Target offers a PSVR bundle along with five games for just $200. This will be part of the retailer’s ‘Door Buster’ sale. The package includes the PSVR headset with all the required cables, PlayStation Camera and the following virtual reality games:-

  • Resident Evil 7 biohazard
  • Astrobot Rescue Mission
  • PlayStation Worlds
  • Skyrim VR
  • Everybody’s Golf VR

If you have some cash to spare, you can purchase the full PSVR kit. You can purchase the PSVR bundle that comes with two games (Everybody’s Golf VR and Blood & Truth) and two Move Controllers all for $249.99. This usually goes for $349.99 so you will be saving $100 on the full kit.
