Mario Kart VR has a New London Location
Mario Kart VR has a new location in central London.
The virtual reality arcade arm of Bandai Namco, VR Zone, launched the arcade game at the Namco Funscape situated in County Hall. Funscape has long been an arcade venue and is centrally situated next to the London Eye, in front of the River Thames.
Enthusiasts were already able to play the game at the O2 venue but this location was not central. The installation at the new location will provide space for up to four players just like the installations in the other sites.
Mario Kart VR is already available in multiple locations including a center in Southern California.
The VR arcade game entails players climbing into kart-shaped seats that are built with steering wheels and pedals. Vive Trackers are fitted into the player’s hands and they can subsequently pull on a Vive to get themselves cast as Mario, Yoshi or Luigi depending on the kart that the player picks.
The player is subsequently taken on a whirlwind tour of some of the highlights found in the Mario Kart series. They will race through various environments while using some of the iconic weapons from the Mario series such as the green shells. Mario Kart VR is a big hit in the arcades. It is also one of the most accessible and polished experiences in the arcades.
Mario Kart VR costs $10 per person for a few minutes of play. To try it online today, book here.
The Japanese version of Mario Kart VR at the Mazaria Arcade includes various experiences which are currently not found outside Japan.
