‘Contractors’ VR Shooter Released on Quest
The team-based competitive multiplayer Contractors (2018) is now available on Oculus Store for Quest.
The VR shooter has been available on the PC VR platform for the past two years. It first appeared on the Steam platform and then later on in the Oculus Store for Rift. So far, it has amassed some positive reviews on both platforms.
For the past six months, Contractors was in the open beta on Oculus Quest through the SideQuest which is the unofficial Quest app store. For the first time however, the game is now officially on the Oculus Store for Quest. It will also a feature a cross-buy for the Rift version of the game which will go for $20.
The release on Quest also means a rather predictable and also notable drop in the texture quality but the game developer Caveman Studio has assured end users that Contractors has retained the same gameplay as well as its full-body inverse kinematics (IK). Below are some of the screenshots from the game’s new Quest version.
Contractors features casual and competitive gameplay modes across its various maps that offer players a rich mix of both indoor as well as outdoor spaces. The game also has online and offline PvE missions as well as more than 30 different weapons that players can choose from.
The release on Quest also coincides with an update to its PC VR version which now comes with a new mission that can be played in the solo mode as well as for up to four players. The total missions in the game is now eight and the game features four different objectives.
According to Caveman Studio, there are more co-op as well as single-player missions lined up, including new maps. Based on this Oculus blog update, talks are also underway on whether to introduce the mod features to the Quest version of the game that will allow players to create their own games, weapon loadouts as well as maps.
