Enhance Games and THA, the developers of Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect have now revealed that their upcoming PSVR-exclusive Humanity is now set for a 2021 release.

Humanity was initially slated for a 2020 release but that didn’t materialize.

This was confirmed via a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account ahead of the Christmas. In the tweet, the studio states that the year 2020 had taken an “unexpected turn” for Humanity (no pun intended). A short video released by the developers shows a large crowd of tiny people in the game shifting from 2020 to 2021.

Humanity developers were quiet for much of 2020 following the initial announcement of the game in 2019. In that year, the developers had shown an ambiguous trailer showcasing scores of people colliding with one another as they navigated the different levels of the game and occasionally fighting other crowds or overcoming obstacles. However, the studio is yet to reveal what one does in the game or how they play. You can have a look at the trailer below to get some hints.

The 2021 launch of the game is still exciting news. Humanity comes with an optional PSVR support and from the looks of it, it appears to be a technical achievement. They developer is yet to give any details on the possible PS5 release of the game but even if it were to come, users would still have to play the PS4 version in order to access virtual reality support.

Humanity’s developers haven’t provided any reasons for the delay. However, Enhance has been busy on pots of Tetris Effect in 2020. It is also likely that developers also had to grapple with the effects of the pandemic like the rest of the world.
