3D Design Tool Gravity Sketch Now Freely Available for Individual Users
The 3D modeling software Gravity Sketch which supports both Oculus Quest and PC VR headsets has been priced at $25 up until now. The studio has now made the app freely available for individual users.
Gravity Sketch was launched into the Steam Early Access in 2017 and is highly acclaimed as a fully-featured VR creation tool which also provides support for the traditional peripherals like the Wacom tablets.
Gravity Sketch is a more complex set of creation tools than the other creation apps like Oculus Quill or Tilt Brush but it gives users an impressive range of design-oriented tools that are geared at everything ranging from the ideation to digital asset modeling. Gravity Sketch supports various headsets including Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift and SteamVR.
According to the Gravity Sketch co-founder and CEO Oluwayesi Sosanya, making the product free enables 3D design and modeling software to attract a more diverse user group. According to Sosanya, the app’s Early Adopters helped support its development and R&D and those users have been instrumental in what Gravity Sketch has built to date. Many of those users implemented Gravity Sketch into their formal workflow which has resulted in enterprise contracts that helped drive the company’s revenues and enabled a sustainable operation.
Gravity’s Sketch free basic version for individual users allows users to import both images and video (in formats such as .jpg, .png and .mp4) and to import/export .obj that have textures and materials and to utilize infinite layers. Users will also gain access to 1GB of cloud-saves through the company’s free Landing pad service.
The app’s paid business version offers enterprise-level support as well as security, cloud backup and support for more 3D file formats including FBX, STL, FBX, Collada (.dae), IGES, GLTF and Blender files (.blend). The business version also allows for live collaboration with teams across the world within the same virtual studio.https://virtualrealitytimes.com/2021/02/07/3d-design-tool-gravity-sketch-now-freely-available-for-individual-users/https://virtualrealitytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Gravity-Sketch-600x375.pnghttps://virtualrealitytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Gravity-Sketch-150x90.pngModelingSoftwareTechnologyThe 3D modeling software Gravity Sketch which supports both Oculus Quest and PC VR headsets has been priced at $25 up until now.
