Kayak VR: This PC VR Game Immerses You into a Stunning Arctic Expedition
The paddleboat simulation PC VR game Kayak VR: Mirage has stunningly beautiful graphics. The team has now added a new icy environment: the Artic.
The PC VR medium provides users with a host of advantages. Perhaps, the most obvious one is the graphical performance. More than the standalone medium, the PC VR experience with a powerful VR headset brings the true visual capabilities of virtual reality, immersing you in experiences that are ultra-realistic and close as possible to the real-world experience.
In Kayak VR: Mirage, you get the same effect. The studio behind the experience, Better Than Life, developed a paddleboat simulation that is specifically designed for the VR medium. It has correspondingly impressive graphics that has previously been demonstrated with a canyon level.
In a Reddit post, the team writes that it has been working hard behind the scenes and on a number of new environments. One of these is the impressive new artic level whose new gaming scenes the team also showcased in the post.
It shows a realistic water simulation, complete with transparency and reflections, crisp textures as well as impressive mood lighting.
Kayak VR: Mirage will have two modes: Time Attack and Free Ride. You can immerse yourself in these and simply relax, soaking in the surroundings.
The studio has also added tutorials, programmed new comfort settings to handle motion sickness, improved the experience’s graphical performance, improved the sound and effects, and made fine adjustments to the paddle boat physics.
To Launch in a Few Months
Upon its release, the game will have four environments. Early Access should begin in early April, first on Steam and later on in the Rift Store. The launch might also be delayed by up to a month.
The studio would also like to release Kayak VR for PlayStation VR 2 but there are no porting plans for the Quest platform although this option might be pursued at a later date.
