Sony to Give a Sneak Peak of PSVR 2 Games in State of Play This Week
During Sony’s State of Play presentation this week, the company will reportedly provide a sneak peek of upcoming PSVR 2 games.
In a PlayStation Blog, Sony confirms that the showcase will start at 3 pm PT/6 pm ET on June 2. About 30 minutes of the show will include “announcements and updates” but it won’t be wholly on PSVR 2. Some sections of the show will give viewers a sneak peek at the many games currently in development for PSVR 2.
The PlayStation Blog doesn’t divulge any information on whether Sony is likely to provide details on the PSVR 2 hardware. Upload VR writes that Sony usually adds disclaimers to announcements that a hardware showcase won’t be at the event in order to temper expectations. However, the PlayStation Blog does not have such disclaimers leading the tech news website to speculate that Sony might divulge some information on the headset such as its price and release date.
It has been widely reported that the PSVR 2 will arrive in early 2023. A few PSVR games have also been confirmed already, an indicator that the headset is not far off. These include titles such as Horizon Call of the Mountain and various third-party titles such as Among Us VR and Firmament. It has also been confirmed that developers such as Fast Travel Games and nDreams are working on PSVR 2 titles. It has also been rumored that Resident Evil 8 and Gran Turismo 7 are lined up for PSVR 2.
Last week, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan announced that the company was planning more than 20 games for the launch of the headset.
Keep it here for any future updates on PSVR 2 games and even on the developments with the headset itself.
