Owlchemy Labs Teases Multiplayer VR Project with Hand Tracking Support
Owlchemy Labs has given a sneak peek of its next virtual reality project: a multiplayer experience with hand tracking support.
Owlchemy Labs is one of the oldest VR studios and also one of the best VR developers with hit titles like Vacation Simulator, Job Simulator, and the recent hit, Cosmonious High.
At Gamescom last night, Owlchemy Labs teased its upcoming project which is also its first multiplayer experience. The project hasn’t been named yet and there aren’t many details to run with at this time. However, it is clear that will be a multiplayer experience and that it has been created “from the ground up” for hand tracking functionality. According to UploadVR, a final decision is yet to be made on whether the experience will support other input methods on top of hand tracking support.
During the announcement, Owlchemy Labs also released a teaser trailer although not much can be gleaned from this. The teaser shows the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming experience but it doesn’t show any specific details of the experience or even the gameplay.
We are excited to announce the development of our brand new title – our first ever VR game built from the ground up for hand tracking as well as our very first time to feature multiplayer!

Besides, Owlchemy Labs did not provide any specific details on the release date of the experience or the platforms it will support. However, the teaser shows a Quest 2 headset.
Owlchemy Labs’ VR creations are characterized by intuitive design and interactions. Their games are typically accessible to various players and will work even for those who are relatively new to virtual reality.
This is also not the first time that the studio is implementing hand tracking in a virtual reality experience. It has previously done so in a free update for its hit VR title Vacation Simulator. However, this next project is seemingly the studio’s first title where hand tracking support has been put front and center.
More details about Owlchemy Labs’ upcoming projects will likely come out in the next few months. There will also be a lot more announcements coming up at Gamescom so keep an eye out for our coverage of the proceedings throughout the week.https://virtualrealitytimes.com/2022/08/24/owlchemy-labs-teases-multiplayer-vr-project-with-hand-tracking-support/https://virtualrealitytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Owlchemy-Labs-600x447.pnghttps://virtualrealitytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Owlchemy-Labs-150x90.pngGamingTechnologyOwlchemy Labs has given a sneak peek of its next virtual reality project: a multiplayer experience with hand tracking support.
