Sony Starts Accepting Preorders for its PlayStation VR 2 Headset
Preorders for Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR 2 headset have opened today.
Prospective buyers who had expressed an interest in the headset early on through Sony’s official website have started getting emails indicating pre-order windows and many of them have already placed pre-orders for the headset. Many have shared screenshots of their successful pre-orders on Twitter.
The headset launches on February 22nd, 2023 with a starting price of $550. Applicable taxes on the base system will take its eventual pricing slightly above that. In some other countries, the taxes will be included in the listed pricing.
The PSVR2 headset is powered by the PS5 console system over a wired connection. The disc-free version of the PS5 console system goes for $400. This will bring the all-in pricing for Sony’s upcoming next-generation headset to about $1,000. The system comes with PS VR2 Sense controllers with stereo headphones. Sony will also sell a charging station for the controllers separately for $49.99.
Sony expects over 20 PSVR2 titles at launch. Horizon Call of the Mountain has already been listed on the PlayStation Store and is priced at $59.99. Check out our list of confirmed PSVR2 titles that will be available at launch in February next year.
