The final version of Virtux’s Omni One VR treadmill will begin shipping to early investors.

Virtuix had a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2020 which led to the development of the consumer-focused Omni One treadmill. It was initially scheduled to be released in the second half of 2021 but the company said it grappled with a “challenging development process” due to the pandemic which led to supply chain shortages and delays.

Virtuix says its Omni One treadmill has aroused high interest and that the company has a long “waitlist” of 35,000 who have expressed an interest in the device. A broader consumer launch is slated for later in the year.

Virtuix says 900 of its crowdfunding investors applied for a unit of the Omni One beta. The beta program will end in late 2023 and will be followed by a wider release of the headset. Below is an image of the finalized design of the device.

The Omni One is inspired by Virtuix commercial-grade Omni Pro VR treadmill. The Omni One is a more compact treadmill option that has been designed for home use – it will fit inside your living room where you can use it as a complete entertainment unit.

The Omni One has previously been shown with the Pico Neo 2 headset. Virtuix will pair the final version of the treadmill with a Pico Neo 3 standalone VR headset and it features a unique operating system, and social features as well as a “proprietary game store” that aims to have as many as 30 titles at launch.

According to Virtuix, the Omni One treadmill will have a wider consumer launch later in 2023. It will have an introductory price of $2,595 plus shipping costs (including the Pico Neo 3 Pro headset).

Virtuix says the unit quantities of the treadmill will start small and then gradually increase as the rollout unfolds.
