Phantom Matrix’s Theatrical Puzzles Coming to PC VR in July 2023
Phantom Matrix’s room-scale theatrical puzzle game is coming to PC VR this July via Steam Early Access.
The title was developed by Cybertail Games. According to the description, the game is a “theatrical, physics-based, stealth puzzle action game.”
In the game, your friends have been kidnapped, humanity has disappeared and you are only left with cats to assist. Every chapter of the game will end with a boss fight who will grant new abilities when they are defeated.
The game requires 2.25 square meters of space for room-scale gameplay. Your mission in the game is to find the truth “after all mankind has been possessed.” You will be armed only with your wits along with the “game” power. You have to save not only the game but also your friends.
In the Steam FAQ, the developer Cybertail says that the first patch of the early access gave the game prologue along with half of the first chapter.
The full version of the Phantom Matrix puzzle game will have 7 chapters full story along with 7 bosses, 7 abilities as well as a functional level editor, according to the developer. The development team also estimates that it will need “approximately 15 to 18 months” to finish work on Phantom Matrix although it advises the level editor might require more time.
Phantom Matrix drops on July 24, 2023, in PC VR via Steam Early Access. A free demo of the game is already available.
