2VR Thin Headset Is Coming To Make Things Easier
People often associate Virtual Reality with expensive headsets and gaming PCs, but that is far from the truth. You can start your VR experience just by buying a pair of $10 VR glasses and using your smartphone. However, if you find these VR glasses uncomfortable or too big to carry on, things are about to get easier for you with the coming 2VR.
2VR Will Be the VR Headset for Everyone
That’s what Stimuli VR claims, the New York based company founded by inventor Roy Peer. Stimuli VR creates virtual reality content and already developed affordable colored VR glasses inspired in the Google Cardboard; also known as the 1VR. The 2VR headset will be quite different though, unlike its older brother, the new headset won’t be made of cardboard.
The 2VR would make things easier and definitely more comfortable. It’s thinner than any other VR headset, mobile, and you can use it with your hands free. It is so thin that you can fit in your pockets, but you probably don’t want to do that if you’re as I am. The material looks resistant and the glasses are pretty thick, but it’s safer to keep it in its 2VR cover to avoid scratches.
Cover? Did I say cover? Yes! It includes a cover that doubles as a protective sleeve. The 2VR Fabric is made of real fabric and it will both protect your glasses and make it look cool.
VR Glasses or VR Headset?
You can call it however you want, but no one can deny that it resembles Harry Potter’s unbreakable glasses. They are both magic, that’s for sure. The main difference is that the 2VR will allow you to insert your smartphone and keep it tightly for you to enjoy any mobile VR experience. Any smartphone from 4” to 5.5” screens will fit nicely.
What about the specs? The 2VR will feature 34mm lenses for a better field of vision, and soft rubber phone grips that will allow any movement while keeping your phone safe. It will also sport ergonomic ear grips, nose padding, adjustable temple lengths, and rotating front arms to ensure that your phone is appropriately pressed in.
The 2VR Revolution
Many great ideas come from people like us and not from the big companies. The 2VR headset is already developed, the molds are being made and the designs will soon be patented. But Stimuli VR needs help to fund the manufacturing process and the shipping costs of the first mass orders. If you like the idea and wish to be a part of this project, you can actually help make all of this happen by supporting their Indiegogo campaign.
By helping in the crowdfunding, you will obtain the very first 2VR headsets and will take part in the customized color survey. You can also help by sharing this information on social media with your friends. If you just can’t wait for the 2VR to come one, you can order the 1VR on Amazon, it’s just $9.99 and you get to pick one of the four available colors.
