Facebook is Once Again Shipping the Quest 2 Elite Strap
Facebook has this week resumed the shipping of the Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap with the Battery accessories and it comes with a two-year replacement offer.
The Elite Straps now have a hard plastic lining that replaces the original soft and stretchy strap which comes with the Oculus Quest 2 headset.
The base strap goes for $50 and the battery pack which comes with a carry case goes for $130. Following the release of the Quest 2, reports began streaming in about the straps snapping during use. Many of these reports came complete with pictures of the broken devices and Facebook had been prompted to pause shipping further orders of the Elite Straps with customers being given the opportunity to outright cancel their orders. Facebook blamed the issue on a “processing inconsistency” in the earlier units during the manufacturing process. Now the shipping of the Elite Straps has resumed complete with a two-year warranty in place.
In a statement issued this week, Facebook stated that the issue had affected a “very small percentage of customers” but it is now, as a guarantee, providing all customers with a two-year warranty which will cover all the Elite Strap accessories. Facebook will therefore honor a free replacement for a period of up two years after the date of purchase for in-store purchases or within two years of the delivery date of the purchased products for the online purchases. Facebook encouraged users experiencing issues with their Elite Strap accessories to contact Oculus Support for help.
