This came via a free update known as ‘Freestyle Expansion Pack’ which landed on April 22nd. The update has brought six new levels that are playable in both ‘casual’ and ‘professional’ modes.

According to the studio, there aren’t any checkpoints and players earn bonus points if they complete the levels without chalk.

Crytek plans to release the DLC in two parts which, together, will introduce 12 new levels. Crytek didn’t reveal when the second half will arrive but the newly announced “rhythm-based climbing” challenges are good enough to keep us busy for quite some time.

Crytek also announced that it plans to incorporate “disappearing grips along your route, requiring you to learn the grip patterns to the beat of the background track to progress through.”

The Climb 2 is one of the best-rated VR titles thanks to its very refined climbing mechanics, exotic locales, and plenty of interesting new challenges.
