Cities: VR Takes You Through an Exciting City-Building Experience in Meta Quest
Last week, Fast Travel Games announced that it is developing a city-building experience for Meta Quest known as Cities: VR.
Cities: VR is a virtual reality spin-off of Cities: Skylines and was licensed from Paradox Interactive. Fast Travel Games is already known for such VR hits as Apex Construct and Wraith: The Oblivion -Afterlife.
Cities: VR is a city-building experience aiming to offer players an entreport into the Cities series franchise through a compelling VR experience that the series’ veterans will find quite interesting.
Like its flatscreen edition of the city-building and management simulator, Cities: VR puts players into the grueling process of controlling all aspects of city planning. Players will be tasked with doing everything right from designing the layouts of their bustling metropolises to making sure that their cities have enough emergency services and that there is a smooth traffic flow. The game tasked you with plenty of activities and there is a lot of stuff that you will need to keep an eye on.
You will be building your city from a bird’s eye view and you will quickly place new roads and facilities. You will then go to the street level where you will see the world you are building coming alive.
Cities: Skylines is generally regarded as the ultimate modern city builder and its translation to virtual reality should be exciting. According to Fast Travel Games Creative Director Erik Odeldahl, the company is looking to tap into the underserved genre of city-building in virtual reality. He stated that the company had spent a lot of time, research as well as energy in adapting Cities: Skyline into virtual reality and has done it in an approachable way for new players while also making it into an exciting challenge for Cities veterans.
Cities: VR is not the first city-building virtual reality experience that is coming into Meta Quest in 2022. In October this year, nDreams announced that it will be publishing the city management experience Little Cities from the indie team Purple Yonder.
Cities: VR is set to be released on Quest in Spring 2022. Check out the first trailer below: –
